Outcome

Selected as the overall winner.

The 2020 Iron Dev competition challenged cross-functional teams to create an AR/VR training solution that improved warfighter readiness. A four-person Team Moth+Flame built READY BOSS in one week and was selected as the overall competition winner.

A virtual sand table built for mission replay.

READY BOSS paired an interactive terrain table with cockpit-scale simulation so teams could review a mission, inspect routes and events, and re-fly the scenario from different perspectives.

The challenge

Iron Dev brought together immersive development, simulation, networking, visual design, and training design around a single operational objective: improve warfighter readiness.

The four-person team had one week to frame the problem, choose an achievable architecture, build the experience, integrate the parts, and deliver a reliable live demonstration.
